Garmin Corporate Headquarters Now Entirely Reliant on Renewable Wind Energy

Garmin is proud to report that its U.S. corporate headquarters campus in Olathe, Kansas is 100% powered by renewable wind energy. Garmin officially reached this significant sustainability milestone thanks to a 20-year contract with Evergy Inc.

Garmin signed a long-term wind energy agreement in 2021 through Evergy’s Renewables Direct program, positioning the company for a more sustainable future for its associates, communities and customers. In January of 2023, Garmin opened its newly renovated Building 3, which includes a new state-of-the-art Well-being Center and Café and aviation wing with new office space, conference rooms and more — all to make room for continued growth.

The original contract, which included Garmin’s New Century campus, called for 8.6 megawatts of renewable energy to be pulled from a wind farm in Northwest Oklahoma. However, that contract was amended on May 30, 2023, to add 1.2 megawatts which will fully power the expanded campus using only renewable energy.
