Go Off-roading with Garmin

Garmin’s off-roading products offer ATV and side-by-side drivers a wealth of navigational data and communication capabilities to ensure you can focus on the fun stuff.

It’s 5 o’clock on a Friday, the cooler is packed, the side-by-side is fueled up, and you’re ready to see what adventure the weekend will bring. Before you set out, though, take another inventory of everything you have on board. Do you have turn-by-turn trail navigation available? Do you have a way to contact friends and family in the event of an emergency — in a remote location with limited cell service?  If the answer to any of these questions is no, you’ll want to keep reading to learn more about Garmin’s line of products crafted specifically for off-roaders.

The Free Tread App

Yes, you read that right: The Garmin Tread® app is free. Easily downloaded on your compatible smartphone, with an active Wi-Fi® connection the Garmin Tread app offers rich map content, including USFS roads, MVUM trails and campgrounds — so you can truly have access to the navigational guidance that will matter most to those who aren’t taking the beaten path. Even better? If your friends download the app as well, you can track each one of them on the map up to 20 riders. No more getting separated from the group — unless you want to.

Tread

Garmin Tread® is a rugged powersport GPS navigator to help keep you on track. The base edition includes topographic mapping and information about both private and public land, forest service roads and trails. It’s water-resistant and can be easily installed on your vehicle with the included powered mount and wiring harness with tube mount. Even better? You can download BirdsEye Satellite Imagery directly to your device with no computer involved. (Pro tip — this feature is especially helpful for hunters who want to get a better idea of the terrain and where the animals in the area may be located.)

Both the Garmin Tread® SxS Edition and the Garmin Tread® 5.5” come with all of the above, plus include the Group Ride Radio1 for tracking other riders, a push-to-talk fist mic, turn-by-turn trail navigation with OpenStreetMap and USFS Motor Vehicle Use Maps, and built-in inReach® technology for global satellite communication2 with an active subscription.

Tread Audio System

Every adventure calls for a soundtrack. The rugged, all-in-one Tread® audio system is compatible with any powersport vehicle and will deliver premium quality audio no matter where you go. Controllable from the included wireless remote, the free Tread app or your Tread navigator, audio input sources include AM/FM, AUX and BLUETOOTH® technology, and the rugged design ensures your music never skips a beat no matter the ride conditions. Even better? The built-in speaker LEDs let you control and even sync colors to your music.

Group Ride Radio

Hitting the trails with friends? Pair your compatible Garmin navigator with a Group Ride Radio1, and you’ll have location sharing with everyone in your group as well as the ability to talk to each other using the included push-to-talk fist mic. If you prefer to keep your hands on the wheel, you can even pair your Garmin device with a helmet or headset enabled with BLUETOOTH technology to get hands-free communication. Some Tread navigators include the Group Ride Radio accessory, or you can purchase it as a separate accessory.

Digital Switch Box

After a while, the accessories in your vehicle start to add up. The light bars, horns, air compressors, locks and more all need their own controls — unless you add in a Garmin PowerSwitch™. This digital switch box offers a centralized control for all your vehicle’s 12-volt accessories from your compatible Garmin GPS navigator or smartphone. You can access up to four Garmin PowerSwitch devices from the same touchscreen display — so you can spend more time on the fun part of off-roading and less time on the setup.

BC 50 Wireless Cameras

A clear view is paramount to any drive, rugged or otherwise. Luckily, the Garmin BC™ 50 series wireless cameras are compatible with all Tread navigators, allowing for increased awareness around your vehicle. With a wide field of view and a sturdy build, these cameras offer flexible mounting options for added visibility.
