Dexcom Connect IQ apps Safety and Use Information

The Dexcom apps on the Connect IQ™ Store are software-only applications for compatible Garmin smartwatches and cycling computers, intended to provide a secondary display of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data to users of compatible Dexcom, Inc. (“Dexcom”) continuous glucose monitors for the purposes of passive monitoring.

The Dexcom apps on Connect IQ are not intended to serve as or to replace the real-time display of CGM data of the primary device or standard blood glucose home monitoring. All therapeutic decisions, including those regarding calculating insulin or other drug dosages, should be based on glucose measurements obtained from a CGM or blood glucose meter and not on data from the Dexcom apps on Connect IQ. Users should follow instructions on the Dexcom CGM System. The Dexcom apps on Connect IQ are not intended to replace self-monitoring practices advised by a physician.

The Dexcom apps on Connect IQ are not intended to analyze, interpret or modify the CGM data received from the Dexcom CGM System, nor are they intended to instruct or transmit any information to the Dexcom CGM System. The Dexcom apps on Connect IQ are not intended to receive information directly from the sensor or transmitter of the Dexcom CGM System. The Dexcom apps on Connect IQ are not intended for controlling insulin pumps or other drug delivery systems.

Warnings

DO NOT make dosing decisions based on data presented in the Dexcom apps on Connect IQ. Users should follow instructions on the CGM System.

DO NOT use the Dexcom apps on Connect IQ to replace self-monitoring practices as advised by a physician.

DO NOT rely on the Dexcom apps on Connect IQ for primary monitoring of low or high glucose levels. Any problems associated with the Dexcom CGM System, smartphone, BLUETOOTH® connectivity, wireless internet connection, mobile data connection, Dexcom data platform, watch or certain of these components not being in communication range could cause data not to be available in the CGM app.

Hardware Platform and Operating System Requirements

The Dexcom apps on Connect IQ are available on select Garmin smartwatches and cycling computers that support Connect IQ System 4.

Compatible devices include: fēnix 6 Series, fēnix 6 Solar Series, vívoactive® 4 series, Legacy Series, MARQ® series, Venu Sq, Venu 2 series, Forerunner 245, Forerunner 245 Music, Forerunner 745, Forerunner 945, Forerunner 945 LTE, quatix® 6 series, tactix® Delta series, Edge® 530, Edge 830, Edge 1030 and Edge 1030 Plus. fēnix 6 and Enduro compatibility is coming soon. Edge devices are only compatible with the Dexcom Connect IQ data field.

Situations in Which the App May Not Operate at an Expected Performance Level

  • No smartphone wireless or mobile data connectivity
  • No BLUETOOTH connection between Garmin device and smartphone
  • No BLUETOOTH connection between Dexcom sensor and smartphone
  • Smartphone or Garmin device in low power or battery saving mode
  • Dexcom account services unavailable
