Product Design and Materials
In compliance with environmental standards, we have placed the following checks in our production and material supply to reduce hazardous materials used in our products:
- Analysis of each stage of our operation to identify materials that could have a potentially harmful effect on people and the environment.
- Adoption of appropriate controls and safeguards, including the elimination of hazardous materials from our products.
- Documentation of all actions taken.
- Initiatives to improve current environmental practices, including the use of innovative and recycled materials.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
We ensure compliance with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, which bans new electrical and electronic equipment from containing more than permissible levels of hazardous substances, including lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants, DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP on the European Union market.
Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)
We support the objective of the REACH regulation, which improves the protection of human health and the environment through the early and improved identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.
As a manufacturer of “articles” external to the European Union, we do not use or purchase substances for use within the European Union in quantities large enough to be subject to the obligations under Article 6 — general obligations to register substances of their own or in preparations — of the REACH regulation. We do not manufacture any articles in which a substance is intended to be released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use. Some products and accessories contain substances of very high concern (SVHCs) at concentrations above 0.1 percent weight/weight. A listing of the products and accessories with the specific SVHCs is provided below. We are working with our suppliers to identify alternatives to DEHP.
We continue to gather information to ensure our continued compliance with the REACH regulation. As such, we reserve the right to make changes to our products and this information as additional information becomes available.
