G5 – Not Just A Backup, Good Enough For The Starting Lineup

At first glance, our G5 electronic flight instrument may look like just a backup indicator, but upon further investigation, you’ll quickly realize it’s much more than that. The G5, designed by our “Team X” engineers, offers homebuilders a simple, cost-effective solution as either a standalone flight display or a backup flight instrument in experimental/light sport aircraft.

Boasting a bright, easy-to-read 3.5-inch LCD color display, it was designed to fit a standard 3-1/8 inch instrument cutout, making it an easy replacement option for traditional steam gauge indicators. It consolidates aircraft attitude, vertical speed, altitude, airspeed, slip/skid, and baro setting into a convenient package. A built-in GPS receiver will also provide a highly accurate ground speed and ground track.

Being that the G5 electronic flight instrument is our first product of this nature, we wanted to create something that was more than just a backup indicator. In addition to the redundant capabilities it provides as a backup, the G5 can also be utilized as a fully integrated, dissimilar backup flight instrument for G3X, G3X Touch or other EFIS glass cockpits. It can provide standalone backup autopilot control that will allow coupled GPS approaches to be flown or continued in the event of a primary display loss. And power won’t be an issue for the G5, with an optional battery backup that can sustain the instrument for up to four hours of emergency power.

So whether you’re looking for a reliable backup indicator or a small, budget-friendly standalone flight display, look no further than our G5 electronic flight display. To learn more about the G5 visit our website or contact your local Garmin authorized dealer.
