Your Privacy Matters to Garmin

Our goal is to make sure you know how we collect, use, share, and store your personal data when you download and use the Garmin Clipboard app or join a roster as an athlete.

What personal data does Garmin collect?

Garmin Clipboard was created to help coaches track and analyze performance data for both the individual athletes and the team as a whole. We ask for personal information so we can provide insights and stats.

When You Make a Garmin Account

Garmin stores information such as your name or a nickname, email address, and password so you can sign in, and it helps us verify your account if you call customer support.

When You Set up a Team or Roster

We’ll need to know an organization name — such as “Fairview HS Cross Country” — so that anyone you add to your roster knows who added them. If you want to, you can even add a team or roster photo, team name, and team colors, but that’s all optional.

When You Join a Roster as an Assistant Coach

If you are invited to join a roster as an assistant coach, we’ll ask you for your Garmin account information, a name or nickname, and a profile image (optional). That way, you can link your Garmin account to the roster and use the Garmin Clipboard app features.

When You Join a Roster as an Athlete

If you choose to join a roster as an athlete, we’ll ask you for your Garmin account information, a name or nickname, and a profile image (optional), as well as your consent to share data from relevant recorded activities. This links your Garmin account to the roster so that you’ll show up on the team, and it allows your coaches to see and analyze your data.

When You Contact Garmin

We know you might want to stay off the grid, but we may collect things such as your contact, device, or subscription information during support calls to ensure that you get the help you need.

Why does Garmin ask for your personal data?

From providing product support to helping create team training plans, the information we ask for is used to improve your experience with Garmin.

Does Garmin sell your personal data?

No! We don’t sell your data to anyone. And we only share data with others in specific situations.

Activity Data

Coaches and assistant coaches manage the rosters, so they are able to analyze their athletes’ activity data from Garmin Connect and other specific data that athletes choose to share (such as pain and injury data). They will also see athlete names or nicknames and profile images. Athletes can disconnect their accounts at any time.

How can I request to view, update, delete, or transfer my data?

Visit the Account Management Center to make your request or check out the full privacy policy to learn more about your rights.
