Your Privacy Matters to Garmin

Garmin stores information such as your name or a nickname, email address, and password so you can sign in, and it helps us verify your account if you call customer support.

We’ll need to know an organization name — such as “Fairview HS Cross Country” — so that anyone you add to your roster knows who added them. If you want to, you can even add a team or roster photo, team name, and team colors, but that’s all optional.

If you are invited to join a roster as an assistant coach, we’ll ask you for your Garmin account information, a name or nickname, and a profile image (optional). That way, you can link your Garmin account to the roster and use the Garmin Clipboard app features.

If you choose to join a roster as an athlete, we’ll ask you for your Garmin account information, a name or nickname, and a profile image (optional), as well as your consent to share data from relevant recorded activities. This links your Garmin account to the roster so that you’ll show up on the team, and it allows your coaches to see and analyze your data.

We know you might want to stay off the grid, but we may collect things such as your contact, device, or subscription information during support calls to ensure that you get the help you need.

We use your team’s activity data to create team summary charts for easy review, show trends, and help you plan future workouts.

When we have something important to tell you about your products, apps, subscriptions, or account — such as vital safety information, app updates, new products or deals, and updates to our privacy policy — we use collected contact information to reach you.

When you visit our sites or use our apps, we collect information — such as your IP address, location, times that you visit, and more — to let us know how people navigate our sites and apps and how we can improve them.

Garmin is global, which means your personal data may be stored locally or in another country or transferred between Garmin companies. No matter where your information is within Garmin, it is still secured under this privacy policy.

We share data with third parties who provide services — such as analytics and hosting services and sending emails to customers — for us.

Garmin will share your personal data when required to by law enforcement and in other legal matters.

Coaches and assistant coaches manage the rosters, so they are able to analyze their athletes’ activity data from Garmin Connect and other specific data that athletes choose to share (such as pain and injury data). They will also see athlete names or nicknames and profile images. Athletes can disconnect their accounts at any time.
