Garmin® introduces the next generation of BarkLimiter™ automatic bark correction devices
OLATHE, Kan./January 22, 2018 – Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today announced the next generation of its BarkLimiter automatic bark correction devices. The BarkLimiters are being announced in conjunction with the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, and can be seen at the Garmin booth (#3009).
The new BarkLimiter 2 works right out of the box to deter nuisance barking, differentiating between real barks and other noises – which substantially reduces false corrections.
“Incessant barking can be incredibly annoying – not only for the pet’s family, but often for the entire neighborhood,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. “The easy-to-use BarkLimiter 2 gently and consistently teaches the dog that barking isn’t an acceptable behavior, which makes them a better family member and neighbor.”
The BarkLimiter 2 features tone and vibration as well as 10 safe stim levels. Right out of the box, the device incorporates an Advanced Autorise algorithm that gradually and automatically increases as the dog barks.
Users can expand the device’s functionality by downloading the Garmin Canine™ app on their smartphone1, which allows them to remotely adjust correction settings – like setting a fixed stimulation level – as well as review the time and frequency of barking and the associated corrections.
The BarkLimiter 2 is slim and unobtrusive, and is mounted on the provided black strap or any collar up to one inch wide and 0.12 inches thick. The unit comes with two sizes of extended wear plastic contact points to accommodate thick or short coats. The BarkLimiter 2 has a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 30 days, depending on usage.
For those who only want vibration and tone modes, Garmin also offers the BarkLimiter 2VT, which users can configure and review bark history through the Garmin Canine app.
The BarkLimiter 2 has a minimum retail price of $99.99, and the BarkLimiter 2VT has a minimum retail price of $89.99. Both versions are available now.
