Piper Selects Garmin® G1000® Integrated Flight Deck for Archer, Seminole
OLATHE, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced that Piper Aircraft has selected the G1000 all-glass, integrated flight deck for its new Archer and Seminole models, introduced Saturday at Piper Aircraft’s 75th anniversary celebration and fly-in in Vero Beach, Fla. The Florida Institute of Technology College of Aeronautics is the launch customer for this program, taking delivery of eight aircraft in 2013.
“The G1000 is a highly capable flight deck perfectly suited for basic through advanced flight training, missions that the Seminole and Archer perform well,” said Carl Wolf, Garmin’s vice president of aviation sales and marketing. “We’re thrilled that as a result of this program, more new pilots will have the opportunity to learn to fly behind an all-glass flight deck.”
