Garmin® Announces dēzlTM 570 and 770, Its Most Advanced Truck Navigators Yet

New Devices Boast 5 and 7-Inch Glass Displays in Rugged Housing, Advanced Truck and Navigation Features only Available from Garmin

Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today
announced its most advanced truck navigators yet, the dēzl 570 and dēzl
770. The two new navigators feature large 5 and 7-Inch glass displays in
a rugged housing that make it easy to see information at a glance, even
on a large dashboard. Designed to assist truckers on the road in the
best possible way, the dēzl devices add a range of new truck-specific
features, such as easy route shaping, points of interest highly-rated by
professional drivers, simple truck profiles and headset support (dēzl
770 only). Also new to the dēzl series are the latest navigation
features from Garmin, including Garmin
Real DirectionsTM
, free HD Digital Traffic1
(dēzl 770 only), Up Ahead and Foursquare® data. Additionally, the dēzl
570 and dēzl 770 are compatible with the new BC 30TM backup
camera2, which provides a live camera feed from the rear of
the vehicle to eliminate blind spots. The dēzl 570 and dēzl 770 are
being showcased in the Garmin booth (South Hall 4 #35811) at this year’s
CES.

“The new dēzl 570 and 770 are designed to meet the needs of truckers and
address the unique challenges they face on the road,” said Dan Bartel,
Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. “Combining leading Garmin
navigation with new dedicated features for truckers, these new devices
are our best truck navigators yet. The new dēzl not only provide
truck-specific routes and intuitive directions, but also offer
additional functionality, such as filterable truck locations, service
logging and backup camera support.”

With large 5- and 7-Inch glass displays and extra loud speakers,
truckers can clearly see and hear directions and other driving-related
information. The new simple truck profile3 makes entering
trailer dimensions easier than ever before. Drivers simply enter size
and weight to get customized routes that are suitable for their truck.
If the device is transferred to another vehicle, it only takes the touch
of a button to switch to another profile with different dimensions. With
Easy Route Shaping, the new dēzl series even allows truckers to change
their route to include preferred roads or cities.

Once on their way, trucking points of interests let drivers find
truck-friendly pit stops that have been rated by other truckers with
TruckDown, including truck specific parking, hotels and weigh stations.
Along with trucking points of interest, dēzl 570 and 770 include
millions of additional places from Foursquare, like restaurants, lodging
and more. Truckers also have the ability to track their truck’s service
history including oil changes and tire mileage, as well as Hours of
Service (HOS) and International Fuel Tax Agreement Documentation (IFTA).

Garmin’s latest navigation features provide more intuitive directions
than ever before. Only available from Garmin, Real Directions guide
drivers in a natural way by using recognizable landmarks, buildings,
traffic lights and stop signs to give directions. Additional navigation
features include voice activated navigation, Active
Lane Guidance
with voice prompts, as well as photoReal and bird’s
eye junction view. Up Ahead appears alongside the driving map to
constantly inform of nearby services, including restaurants, fuel
stations and rest areas.

The dēzl 570 and 770 both feature Bluetooth® and can be paired with a
smartphone for additional functionality, such as connecting it to a
headset (dēzl 770 only) to make and receive calls. Drivers can also use
the Garmin Smartphone
Link
app to receive up-to-date information4, including
parking, photos from traffic cameras, weather and more. Both devices
come preloaded with HERE Maps and points of interest that don’t rely on
cellular signals and are unaffected by cellular dead zones. The
preloaded maps of the U.S. and Canada include truck-related
restrictions, like bridge heights, sharp curves, weight limits and more.
Also included are free lifetime map updates5 and traffic
avoidance1 without any ads or subscriptions; and the dēzl 770
comes with HD Digital Traffic, the best traffic avoidance solution
available from Garmin.

Both new dēzl models are compatible with the optional Garmin BC 30
Wireless Backup Camera, so truckers can easily spot vehicles,
pedestrians and other obstructions behind the vehicle when reversing. If
the camera is wired to the reverse lights for power, the navigator can
automatically display the live camera feed every time the vehicle is
shifted into reverse (and back to navigation mode when shifted into a
forward gear). A simple button press will toggle between camera and
navigation modes if the camera is plugged into constant power.

The dēzl 570 has a suggested retail price of $299.99 and the dēzl 770
has a suggested retail price of $399.99. Both devices are expected to
become available in the first quarter of 2015. Fore more information,
