Boston Marathon champion and Garmin athlete charms crowds during visit to Garmin headquarters

A mere
four
days after Meb Keflezighi won the Boston Marathon, becoming the first American to take the title
in 31
years, the Olympian and winner of the New York City Marathon made a gracious visit to Garmin headquarters
to
help kick off events for the Garmin Marathon In the Land of Oz. On the morning of April 25, a crowd
of
associates gathered in the lobby at headquarters to give the elite runner a hero’s welcome,
and
Meb took the time to shake hands with each person there, stopping to pose for photos and giving associates
a
chance to see his champion’s medal up close.

Following a meeting with Garmin fitness engineering team and a press conference
with
the local media, Meb sat down with Marketing Specialist Greg Brantner for a Q&A session in front
of
an auditorium full of enthusiastic Garmin associates, some fresh off their own Boston finishes.

Meb’s
agenda for the rest of the afternoon included autograph signings,
more media interviews, and photo and
video sessions with Garmin’s marketing team. Meb using some
of the advanced features of the Forerunner
620, the watch he was wearing during his historic Boston Marathon
win, will soon to be shared.

Friday
evening, Meb was the featured speaker at the
pasta dinner for Garmin Marathon participants, offering
words of inspiration and race strategy.
