After stage 5 of the Tour of Britain yesterday, the race is still wide open. Norwegian Boassen Hagen of Team Columbia won his second stage in a row after a breakaway just managed to stay away on the tough, hilly course to the Dalby Forest.

Just behind, in the race for the overall lead, Team Garmin continued their attacking, positive approach. With testing surges from David MillarMagnus Backstedt, it was left to Dan Martin, sitting just 14 seconds behind the overall leader (Lequatre of the Agritubel team), to make a significant attack on the penultimate climb of the day. He was eventually reeled back in by the chasing peloton, but remains in a strong position to challenge for the overall lead over the last 3 stages of the race.
