Consumer Limited Warranty

This Garmin warranty is a manufacturer’s warranty which provides rights in addition to those provided to you by consumer law. It has duration of two (2) years as from the date you purchase your Garmin product.

Consumer Laws

If your Garmin product is defective you may avail yourselves of the rights contained in the following:

For products purchased in Ireland: the Sale of Goods Act, 1893, the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act,1980 and the European Communities Regulations 2003 (S.I. No. 11/2003); for products purchased in the UK: the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (in particular Section 12), the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (in particular Section 2) and the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002.

You have the right to choose whether to claim service under the Garmin Limited Warranty or under consumer law.

Warranty Coverage

This Garmin product is warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for two years from the date of purchase. Within this period, Garmin will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components that fail in normal use. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to the customer for parts or labor, provided that the customer shall be responsible for any transportation cost. This warranty does not apply to: (i) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents; (ii) consumable parts, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (iii) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes; (iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorized service provider of Garmin; (v) damage to a product that has been modified or altered without the written permission of Garmin; or (vi) damage to a product that has been connected to power and/or data cables that are not supplied by Garmin. In addition, Garmin reserves the right to refuse warranty claims against products or services that are obtained and/or used in contravention of the laws of any country.

Our navigation products are intended to be used only as a travel aid and must not be used for any purpose requiring precise measurement of direction, distance, location or topography. Garmin makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of map data in this product.

To obtain warranty service, contact your local Garmin authorized dealer or call Garmin Product Support for shipping instructions and an RMA tracking number. Securely pack the device and a copy of the original sales receipt, which is required as the proof of purchase for warranty repairs. Write the tracking number clearly on the outside of the package. Send the device, to any Garmin warranty service station.

In the UK and Ireland, your Garmin Product Support is provided by Garmin (Europe) Ltd. Liberty House Hounsdown Business Park, Southampton SO40 9LR.

Garmin may, in its sole discretion repair your product with comparable parts or replace your product with a comparable Garmin product (new or a Garmin Recertified replacement), or offer a full refund of the purchase price.

Repairs have a 90 day warranty. If the unit sent in is still under its original warranty, then the new warranty is 90 days or to the end of the original two year warranty, depending upon which is longer.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Garmin be liable for any loss not caused by Garmin’s breach of this warranty document, for any incidental, special, indirect or consequential damages including any loss of profit or loss of opportunity, whether resulting from the use, misuses or inability to use this product from defects in the product. This limitation shall not apply to (i) death or personal injury; (ii) fraud; (iii) fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iv) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded as a matter of law.

Garmin does not warrant, represent or undertake that it will be able to repair or replace any Garmin product under this warranty without risk to and / or loss of information and / or data stored on your Garmin device.

Privacy

Garmin shall maintain and use any customer information received during the warranty process in accordance with our Statement of Privacy

Important Restrictions for Service

Garmin may restrict service to the EEA and Switzerland. Only Garmin or authorized Garmin Service centers may perform service on Garmin products.

Online Auction Purchases

Products purchased through online auctions may not be eligible for Garmin warranty coverage. Online auction confirmations may not be accepted for warranty verification. To obtain warranty service, an original or copy of the sales receipt from the original retailer is generally required.

General

If any term is held to be illegal or unenforceable, it shall be severed from this warranty and the legality or enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected.

Where the product was purchased in Ireland, this warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of Ireland and each party here by submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. Where the product was purchased in England and Wales, this warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of England and Walesand each party hereby submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts Where the product was purchased in Scotland, this warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of Scotland and each party hereby submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
