Team Garmin explore the Emerald Isles with Garmin Eire Discoverer

Last Thursday saw members of team Garmin take to land, sea and air in order to launch Garmin Eire Discoverer mapping in Ireland. A bumpy plane journey and a rolling, wet sea crossing later, both trailer and team were happily set up at Fifty Three Degrees North outdoor store in Carrickmines, Dublin.

Bright and early the next morning the crew from Garmin and Fifty Three Degrees North greeted a select gathering of Ireland's best Outdoor Journalists for a trip into the Wicklow Mountains. With windproofs and walking boots firmly secured, the intrepid group made their way up White Hill along with their guides –

After a short stroll, the group set about finding a local geocache and were greeted with spectacular views across the Wicklows. The next task was to plant a brand new geocache, complete with log book and Garmin geocoins – check out www.geocaching.com to find the "Craglet geocache" for yourself!

The exercise and breathtaking views left the group ready for lunch and all that was left to do was to retire to Ireland's highest hostelry – Johnnie Fox's to try out some Irish hospitality, thanks to the directions from the trusty Garmin handhelds..
