Garmin navigates Predator and Stingher RIBS in the UK

Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, is pleased to announce that it has been chosen by MRL to standard fit navigation to its imported Stingher and Predator RIBS.

MRL, a Southampton based RIB company is the sole UK Importer of both Predator and Stingher RIBS, Cigarette Offshore Powerboats, and the agents for Redbay Boats.

MRL is to fit Garmin’s flagship GPSMAP 5008 touchscreen chartplotters as standard and will also offer a selection of other Garmin marine electronics for optional fit.

Nigel Craine, Garmin’s OEM Marine Product Manager said: “Garmin is very proud to be providing navigation for Predator and Stingher RIBS imported by MRL. The GPSMAP 5008 is a unique chartplotter, offering the very best in functionality and quality, which compliments these sleek, contemporary RIBS perfectly.

“As part of the Garmin marine family, the GPSMAP 5008 is fully NMEA 2000 compliant and will provide an easy to use multi-functional display that is ideal for accessing information at a glance, putting marine navigation at your fingertips.”

Stingher and Predator RIBS are built in Italy and are world renowned for their quality and style – these RIBS have hand laid hulls and benefit from over 21 years of experience courtesy of  designer Guiseppe Risolo – a former world class power boat racer.

Edward Pedley CEO of MRL said: “We have been testing the GPSMAP 5008 for over a year on several of our demonstration Stingher RIBs. They are extremely easy to use, have a high quality screen and excellent graphics. Most importantly our customers like them.

“Garmin is also standard fit in our Cigarette Offshore Powerboats, our P1 boat and all Redbay RIBS, so it was the next step to offer Garmin on our full range. We are looking forward to working with Garmin and offering their marine electronics.”
