Garmin® Marine Electronics to Outfit Fluid Motion’s Full Line of Ranger Tugs Trawlers and Cutwater Boats

Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced that Fluid Motion, designer and builder of Ranger Tugs, has selected Garmin to be the exclusive electronics supplier to outfit its full line of cruising tugs, including the new Cutwater Boats – an innovative line of trailerable pilothouse cruisers. This new OEM partnership is being announced in advance of the Seattle Boat Show, where the first Cutwater Boats will debut on stand #42.Ranger25radar

“Fluid Motion can now offer its customers an intuitive, easy-to-use navigation experience that complements their cruising needs,” said Engelhard Sundoro, Garmin’s director of marine OEM sales and marketing. “Garmin is pleased to work with such a quality builder as Fluid Motion, and is confident that whether Ranger Tugs or Cutwater customers are looking for adventure at sea, or just have a passion for cruising the coast, they’ll enjoy the stress-free navigation that comes from having a Garmin system onboard, and peace of mind knowing Garmin has a worldwide support network in place.”

The GPSMAP 5215 will be an option on the Ranger Tugs 29, and John Livingston, President of Fluid Motion points out: “This model has a 15-inch screen—that’s a big screen for a 29-foot boat and is one of the ways we offer yacht-size features in a trailerable trawler.” He adds: “Garmin equipment is versatile and intuitive and customer support at both the OEM and consumer level is reliable and top notch. Fluid Motion has been installing Garmin equipment on its Ranger Tugs boats since 2006 and with the launch of Cutwater Boats, it was a natural progression to work with Garmin as the exclusive OEM partner for both lines.”

Fluid Motion will debut its Cutwater 26 and 28 at the Seattle Boat Show, which will include Garmin’s GPSMAP™ 5212 with its unprecedented touchscreen interface, along with the high-powered GMR™ 18HD radome, GSD™ 22 digital sonar, GXM 51 XM satellite weather/audio antenna and VHF 200 marine radio. Additional equipment selected by Ranger Tugs to outfit its line of 21- to 29-foot trawlers, include the GPSMAP 5215, GPSMAP 531s, GPSMAP 740s and AIS 600. For increased confidence at the helm, some Ranger Tugs models will also offer the GHP™ 10 marine autopilot. Both lines of boats along with their Garmin-outfitted stations can be seen at the Seattle Boat Show in January and the Miami International Boat Show in February.
