Garmin is the Official Timing and GPS partners of Prudential RideLondon 2014

Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, is delighted to announce its partnership with Prudential RideLondon. Garmin is the Official Timing and GPS partners of Prudential RideLondon 2014, the mass-cycling event which will take place in the capital on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August 2014.

Due to the high volume of road closures in and around London and Surrey, there are designated park and ride car parks that cyclists can use to access the city. Once again, Garmin is providing a bespoke point of interest download for the park and ride car parks and cycle routes to and from the start and finish lines. The POI’s and cycle routes are available to download now from http://www.garmin.com/uk/ridelondon.

Gail Cook, Garmin UK & Ireland Marketing Communications Manager, commented, “Garmin is proud to be a partner of such a monumental event and provide industry leading cycling and automotive navigation to its participants and spectators. Prudential RideLondon 2013 was such a huge success, helping to boost the number of cyclists in the UK and raise vital funds for excellent causes. We hope for more of the same this year.”

This year, Garmin will be entering its own relay team, with various members of staff taking part in the event. Gail added, “I also want to wish the Garmin team the very best of luck, I’m more than confident the guys will do the company proud!”

In addition, Robbie Ketchell, Director of Sports Science for Team Garmin Sharp, has written a training plan for participants to ensure they ride to their full potential. ‘The 100 mile Training Plan’ is also available to download from http://www.garmin.com/uk/ridelondon.

Over 65,000 people took part in last year’s race, making Prudential RideLondon 2013 the UK's largest mass participation cycling event to date.
