Garmin® gives amateur golfers the chance to play The Ryder Cup Course

Global leader in personal satellite navigation*, Garmin is teaming up with The Daily Telegraph to launch the Garmin ApproachTM Challenge; a new and exciting golf tournament that will be open to all golf clubs and their members across the UK, offering them the chance to play The Twenty Ten Course at The Celtic Manor Resort on the 3rd November 2010, exactly one month after The Ryder Cup takes place on the same course.

It’s free for golf clubs to enter by simply registering their involvement on http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sponsored/sport/garmin-approach/ The golf clubs nominate one of their existing male monthly medal competitions as the qualifying Approach Challenge round. 

Garmin is offering the successful 50 amateur players who win their club’s selected qualifying round the chance of not only playing The Twenty Ten Course and winning a multitude of Garmin GPS but also the opportunity to invest in their club’s junior talent. The Garmin Junior Golf scheme aims to help development the next generation of British golfers by awarding the winners at The Celtic Manor a share of £5,000 to for their club pro to provide lessons to junior members at their home club.

The Garmin Approach G5 is a touch screen golf GPS is preloaded with European of golf course maps using a high-sensitivity GPS receiver to measure each individual shot distance and ultimately improve the amateur golfer’s individual game.
