Gary Burrell and Min Kao believed GPS was going to change the face of navigation when they founded Garmin in 1989. They were right.

Even through a period of slowing revenues, we have remained a highly profitable company with an enviable balance sheet enabling long-term investment. We have been able to deliver strong returns to our shareholders through our growing dividend as well as stock performance.

2016 Annual Report

The investments we have made in our business over the past few years enabled us to deliver new technologies and experience growth and diversification of our revenue base in 2016. The strong year of growth, driven by sales in our outdoor, fitness, marine, and aviation segments, ended with total revenue of $3,019 million, an increase of 7% over the prior year. Outdoor, fitness, marine and aviation collectively grew 21% over the prior year, contributing 71% of total revenue​. Our market share in PND remains strong. We delivered approximately 16.8 million units in 2016, up 4% from the prior year.
