How you can use HSA/FSA funds to buy Garmin products
It’s that time again: You need to spend what’s left in your flexible spending account (FSA). We’re still a couple months away from the end of the year, so there’s no better time to start planning how to use up your FSA dollars.
An eligible Garmin product might be the perfect way to do that.

What is an HSA or FSA?
Health savings accounts (HSAs) and FSAs are tax-advantaged plans that allow you to set aside pretax money to pay for certain medical costs. With an FSA, you must spend the money within the year, while funds in an HSA belong to you — regardless of how much money you have at the end of the year.
Can you use HSA/FSA dollars to buy Garmin products?
The short answer: Yes; however, it’s limited to eligible products including smart scales and monitors.
How does this work?
It’s as easy as adding the device to your cart. Just make sure you only have HSA-/FSA-eligible products — such as those smart scales and monitors — in your cart when you check out. If you want to buy a watch to track your health, that needs to be a separate purchase (but one we highly recommend).
What products can I buy?
The following products are eligible for an HSA/FSA purchase: the Index™ Sleep Monitor, Index™ BPM smart blood pressure monitor, Index™ S2 smart scale, and the HRM 600, HRM-Fit™ and HRM 200 heart rate monitors. Let’s break them down.
Index Sleep Monitor: With this lightweight smart band, you can track your sleep1 and maximize comfort. It offers a breathable design and up to 7 nights of battery life. Prefer not to wear your compatible Garmin smartwatch to bed? The Index Sleep Monitor helps fill that gap to provide a more complete picture of your metrics, including sleep tracking, recovery metrics, breathing variations2, skin temperature tracking for past ovulation estimates3 and more. You can rest easy knowing your data will seamlessly sync with the Garmin Connect™ smartphone app. Plus, the band is machine washable.
Index BPM smart blood pressure monitor4: This FDA-cleared medical device, featuring an all-in-one design, delivers blood pressure and heart rate readings. You can optionally sync with the Garmin Connect app, add up to 16 user profiles and share reports with your health care provider.
Index S2 smart scale: This sleek scale will show your weight, weight trend, body mass index, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, bone mass and body water percentage. Plus, you can sync your data to Garmin Connect.
HRM 600: Built for data-driven performance athletes, this premium heart rate monitor offers up to 2 months of rechargeable battery life and sends real-time heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) data to your compatible devices and apps. When you run with a compatible smartwatch, you’ll also get expanded running dynamics, including step speed loss5, vertical oscillation and ground contact time6. Can’t or don’t want to wear a watch during certain activities such as team sports or martial arts? HRM 600 will record your workout and sync data to the Garmin Connect app1. Plus, the machine-washable strap comes in two sizes.
HRM-Fit: Designed for women, this heart rate monitor with up to 1 year of battery life clips onto medium- and high-support sports bras. It captures running stats, including vertical oscillation, ground contact time balance, stride length and vertical ratio7, transferring data to your compatible Garmin smartwatches, Edge® cycling computers and apps. Don’t have your watch on? It also tracks steps, calories burned, intensity minutes and all-day heart rate2.
HRM 200: Available in two sizes, HRM 200 offers a comfortable fit, a machine-washable strap and up to 1 year of battery life. This heart rate monitor provides accurate heart rate for your activities — including running, indoor and outdoor cycling, strength training and more — and sends real-time heart rate and HRV data to your compatible apps and devices.
