Installation of Rudder Cable Guard – Revision B

AML STC SA01844WI

COMPLIANCE:

MANDATORY: Compliance with Revision B of this STC service bulletin is mandatory at the next 100-hour/annual inspection, not to exceed 6 months.

PURPOSE:

During certain aircraft operating conditions, the co-pilot side main rudder cable becomes slack and may fall below the pitch servo capstan top ring directly below the rudder cable. When tension is restored the cable may remain under the top ring.

Additionally, the upper elevator cable may contact and under some situations remain on top of the pitch servo top ring, outboard of a cable retention pin.
