By turning data into performance insight, our ultimate goal is to make you faster.
Garmin Cycling Aerodynamics
Watch videoThe Track Aero System (TAS)
Our innovative TAS is a cutting-edge technology that allows real-time testing of aerodynamic efficiency while you’re riding. The system allows us to measure your coefficient of drag (CdA) as you ride, and it enables us to conclusively determine the optimal position and equipment combination for you and your bike — ultimately improving your performance.
We’re redefining aero testing, and we’re teaming with fitting specialists around the world so we can be closer to you. Start optimising your performance by booking a test and we’ll help you coordinate travel to a velodrome used by one of our training affiliates.

In our all-inclusive aero fit service, you’ll work directly with a bike-fit professional who will record your position and identify areas of possible improvement, in addition to defining potential biomechanical limits to certain fit options. Once your fit analysis is complete, we begin with a baseline measurement of your CdA with the TAS. We’ll then test various positions and equipment options to ensure the lowest possible drag while maintaining a proper biomechanical position while you ride. Our ultimate goal is to make you faster. We work with exclusive fit specialists at each location. If you have a preferred bike fitter that you choose to work with, let us know. We’re happy to work with them.
Exceptional testing - Extraordinary results
The TAS is the only aerotesting system in the world that provides real-time CdA feedback as you are riding your bike. Our accuracy, proven results and service will help you achieve your goals.

Real-time Analysis
This is our TAS dashboard, where all your data is gathered and shown in real time. Current coefficient of drag is shown in the bottom graph for easier analysis. Your fitting coach will be able to modify your position during your test, and the results are immediately shown on the screen. When analysing multiple riders simultaneously (as in pursuit teams), each cyclist’s drag is shown in a different colour.

Beautiful Design
This is the device recognition tool, an easy-to-use interface where specific data is entered and serves as the initial interface between your bike and the TAS. This tool gathers information from Garmin Bridge, an ANT+® device placed on your bike for testing. Additional information is also entered into this program to ensure perfect testing.
Results Analysis
Averages are calculated for your runs, so you can compare each setup and identify the most optimal one for you. And that’s it. You’ll be faster than ever in no time.

Numbers that Matter
What is CDA?
CdA — or drag area — is a measure of how well-shaped you are aerodynamically. A low CdA means that you efficiently convert the power you apply into forward speed.
For comparison, here are some common vehicles’ drag areas:
