Based in South Africa and riding under the hashtag #BicyclesChangeLives, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka believes wholeheartedly in its motto. Through that campaign, the team’s goal is to put 5,000 children on bicycles each year. With that in mind, the athletes on the team take pride in riding for a greater purpose than just their own personal successes. In their own words, “We exist in order to change lives in Africa through mobilizing people with a bicycle.”

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka
Too many. Our team loves a good laugh.
Our lads do enjoy a good South African braai (that’s a barbecue). There’s a number of those in the off season.
Favorite Moment in History
Our first monument victory, the 2013 Milan, which put our team on the international cycling map. And for right now, Steve Cummings winning our first stage at the Tour de France in 2015.
Bernhard Eisel and Tyler Farrar are our captains on the road.
Favorite Prerace Song
Not much music is played prerace. It’s substituted with coffee.
We race to mobilize change in Africa by raising awareness for the Qhubeka Foundation, which gives bicycles to local communities in Africa in return for community service and academic results.
The Team’s Favorite Device
“This is our go-to product on the bike for racing and training. It’s so lightweight and has the tools we need for monitoring performance during every ride.”Buy Now
