New Garmin® Fishfinder 120 Boasts Big Picture, Small Price Tag
OLATHE, Kan. — Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin
Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN), today announced the Fishfinder 120, an ideal
sonar for the recreational angler. The Fishfinder 120 builds
on the highly successful Fishfinder
80 as an innovative and reasonably
priced sonar device. The Fishfinder 120 was formally introduced
at the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades
(ICAST), held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"The Fishfinder 120 is a perfect balance of functionality
and affordability," said Gary Kelley, Garmin’s director
of marketing. "Weekend anglers have been asking for a quality
built, feature-packed sonar unit with a large, easy-to-view display — that
doesn’t break the bank. That’s exactly what the Fishfinder
120 delivers."
The Fishfinder 120 features a robust 240x128 pixel, four-level
grayscale display in a 4.5-inch diagonal screen, making it one
of the largest displays and highest resolution fishfinders in
its class. The display takes full advantage of Garmin’s
patented Depth Control Gain® (DCG) and its See-Thru® technology,
helping anglers determine bottom hardness and locate fish in
difficult hiding spots, like thermoclines and underwater structure.
And at the touch of a button, the Fishfinder 120 lets anglers
adjust the range, gain, and zoom functions quickly and easily.
The Fishfinder 120 also features Garmin’s innovative 360-degree
swivel mount and quick release mechanism to increase utility
and security.
Also included with the unit is a temperature sensing 200-kHz
transducer, which transmits at 800 watts (peak-to-peak) and 100
watts (RMS), to a maximum depth of 600 feet. The patented transducer
design allows for mounting on either the transom or trolling
motor. Other specifications for the Fishfinder 120:- Display Type: FSTN, four-level grayscale
- Backlighting for display and keypad: three-level adjustable
incandescent
- Viewing area: 3.3"W x 3.3"H (4.5" diagonal)
- Unit Dimensions: (WxHxD): 6.1" x 4.9" x 2.6"
- Internal memory backup for user settings with power disconnected
- Graphic whiteline provides clear image of bottom hardness
and structure
- Alarms: shallow water, deep water, battery voltage, and

- Adjustable range, gain, zoom, and scroll speed

The Fishfinder 120 is available now at a suggested retail price

120 is also sold as a portable unit, which comes with a power
case and suction-mount transducer.
