FR60 - 6 Week Challenge

Follow Claire and Mike on their 6 week challenge

It’s simple; just follow the training plans which have been supplied by professional sports coaches at Full Potential for the 6 week period.  Use one of Garmin’s Forerunner watches while you run and upload the information online at Garmin Connect you can literally see your results!

Many people overlook the importance of exercising at an optimum heart rate but using an FR60 or any of the Garmin Forerunner range enables you to constantly monitor your heart rate when linked up to a heart rate monitor. The ANT+™ stick allows you to wirelessly transfer the data from your watch to your PC and see it in your free Garmin Connect account.

Garmin has taken two members of the general public and challenged them to train for a 6 week period using the new Garmin FR60 and Garmin Connect whilst documenting their fitness journeys via their own video diaries.

Name: Claire Howard
Age: 28
Occupation: Senior Environmental Scientist
Fitness level: Average; Claire enjoys going to the gym and taking work out classes but wants to obtain the maximum results from her exercise regime.
Goal: Increase her general fitness level, lose weight, tone up and complete the Great South Run.

  Name: Mike Corica
Age: 24
Occupation: Retail Manager
Fitness level: Average; Mike enjoys cycling and playing football but isn’t particularly keen on running long distances due to finding it boring.
Goal: To get fit, lose weight and complete a charity running or cycling event.

Mike and Claire attended a fitness analysis session at the University of Winchester where the Sport & Exercise Physiology Consultants from the University conducted thorough and scientific tests to bench mark their current fitness levels.  From the results they were both given tailored training programs for them to follow over the next two weeks.
