Garmin’s partnership with the Scouts, sponsoring the popular Hiker Badge and its involvement in the Big Adventure helps thousands of children discover more about their surroundings, get active and learn new skills in an educational and enjoyable way.

Garmin and the Scouts share a common mission – to provide children and their families with useful life skills and to aid leaders in providing these. Garmin believes that as GPS technology increasingly becomes part of everyday life, children should be able to experience how to use this form of navigation and how rewarding being in the great outdoors can be.

Garmin aims to encourage Scouts to understand GPS handhelds and has provided the movement with 500 units, increasing the opportunity for the next generation to explore GPS handhelds, such as the Etrex range.
