Garmin® GTU™ Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement describes the policies and practices of Garmin regarding your use of the Garmin GTU location tracking products and services (the “Services”). This Privacy Statement supplements and is in addition to the Privacy Statement located on (the “myGarmin™ Website”), which describes the privacy policies and practices of Garmin regarding your use of the myGarmin Website.

Information Garmin collects to provide the Services

After you purchase a Garmin GTU product, you must go to the myGarmin Website to activate the device and Services. You will be required to provide your name, address, telephone number, email address, and payment card information to Garmin (if applicable) to activate the Services. The collection, use, retention and disclosure of such information are governed by the myGarmin Privacy Statement, which can be found here .

When the Services are being used, Garmin periodically collects GPS coordinates that show the location of the GTU device (“Location Information”).

How Garmin uses Location Information

Garmin may use or disclose Location Information collected through the Services to provide the Services to you; to comply with applicable laws; to protect the rights and property of Garmin or others; to protect a person’s safety; to prevent abuse; as evidence in legal proceedings; to cooperate with properly authorized law enforcement investigations; and in response to subpoenas from third parties.

Withdrawing from the collection and sharing of Location Information

At any time the collection of Location Information can be suspended by turning off the GTU device.

Retention of Location Information

Garmin retains Location Information on its servers only as long as necessary for purposes of providing you the Services or as long as it is permitted or required applicable law.
