Q: What are the valid purchase periods for the promotion?
 
A: The purchase period is from from 1st August 2011 – 5pm AEST (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time) on 31st January 2012. Claims made with purchases dated outside of this purchase period will be deemed invalid and ineligible for the free update.
 
 
 
 
Q: Once I’ve bought my product within the valid purchase period, how long do I have to enter the promotion and receive the update?
 
A: Entries close at 5pm AEDST (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time) on the 15th February 2012. Claims received after this date will be deemed invalid and ineligible for the free update.

A: The Garmin Lifetime Map Update gives you access to the newest map information on the streets, highways and points of interest as soon as new content is available. A: You will be issued a code which will be sent to your nominated email address (given at the time of entry). You should then follow the instructions provided in the email to complete the download and activate it on your Garmin GPS.
 
 
 
 
 
Q: What proof or purchase do I need to be valid for the update?
 
A: You need an image of your purchase receipt and an image of the serial number from your GPS.
 
 
 
 
Q: Can I elect to have my Garmin Lifetime Map Update sent to me via post?
 
A: No, you can only receive the update via an emailed code, which can then be used to download your Map Update via your computer.
 
 
 
 
Q: After I enter the promotion, how long will it take for me to receive my Garmin Lifetime Map Update code via email?
 
A: You will receive your code within 8 weeks of entering.
 
 
 
 
Q: How long will my Garmin Lifetime Map Update take to download?
 
A: This map update may take up to several hours to download and is not for use with dial-up Internet access or Satellite Internet Providers. Actual download speeds may vary.

Q: I bought my product within the promotional purchase period, from eBay. Is this valid?
 
A: No. Purchases made through any online bidding or auction websites are not permitted.
 
 
 
 
Q: Can I claim more than once?
 
A: Multiple claims are permitted, subject to the following:
(a)   Only one claim permitted per specified purchase requirement (you will need to purchase one product per claim).
(b)   Each claim must be submitted separately and in accordance with claim requirements.
(c)   A maximum of three claims per person is permitted.
 
 
 
Q: I entered the promotion and supplied my proof of purchase and serial number. Garmin is now asking me to resupply these, however I’ve since disposed of them. Am I still eligible for claim?
 
A: No. You must retain your original purchase receipt and original serial number for all claims. Often the mailed or electronic copies of these documents can be indecipherable, and we will need you to present these documents to validate your claim. In the event that we ask you to present these and you cannot, your entry will be deemed invalid.
 
 
 
 
 
Q: I do not want the Garmin Lifetime Map Update. Can I exchange this for another product download?
 
A: No. The map update is not transferable or exchangeable, and cannot be taken as cash.
 
 
 
 
 
Q. Is this a competition?
 
A. No, this is a direct redemption. All valid entrants in the Bonus Lifetime Map Update promotion will receive the Map Update.
 
 
 
 
Q: Can I claim my rewards points from my credit card to purchase a Garmin GPS and enter the promotion?
 
A: Yes, so long as the Garmin GPS is purchased between 1st August 2011 and 5pm AEST (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time) on January 31st 2012. The GPS must be a model which is elegible for entry into the promotion.
 
 
 
 
Q: I’ve just realised some of the details I entered in the entry form were incorrect. How can I change them?
 
 
A: You can email promotions@garmin.com with your entry form attached, and tell us what you would like to be changed. We can then update your entry for you.
 
 
 
 
Q: I am trying to submit and it’s saying “serial number already been used” but I’m sure this is the correct serial number. What do I do?
 
 
A: You can email promotions@garmin.com stating the issue and the serial number you are trying to enter with, and we will look into this for you.
 
 
 
Q: I’ve been trying to complete the entry form, but nothing happens after I click ‘submit’. What should I do?
 
 
A: Try again in a few hours, and if this still doesn’t work you can email promotions@garmin.com with all the information required by the entry form (including your proof of purchase and serial number documents) and we can enter on your behalf.
