Thomas P. Poberezny is chairman emeritus of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), having served as president from 1989 to 2009, and chairman of the board from 2009 to 2011. EAA promotes all aspects of aviation, providing pathways to participation for all who have an interest or passion for flying. EAA has approximately 160,000 members worldwide, and is host to the largest airshow in the world, the EAA AirVenture Fly-in, held annually in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Poberezny holds a bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and is a former world champion aerobatic pilot. Poberezny, who is widely considered an expert in the field of aviation, was inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame in 1996.
