Laurie Minard joined Garmin in 1996 and started the human resources department. She became director of human resources in 2002 and was promoted to vice president in July 2007. Minard is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for recruiting/talent management, payroll/compensation, benefits, health and wellness, training and career development as well as associate relations at Garmin. She earned her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Kansas.
Minard has served the community in a variety of board roles and is currently on the Employment Practices Network, Olathe Medical Center Board of Directors, Olathe Salvation Army Advisory Council, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Leadership Council, KU Edwards Campus Board of Advisors and Workforce Development Advisory Board, KSU Olathe Advisory Board and is a JCCC Foundation Board Ambassador.
